BIOMEDICAL
Boxes and packaging for the transport of sensitive goods such as: organs, tissues, blood, umbilical cord blood, semen, live specimens, cultures, serums and vaccines, complying with current regulations and standards, ensuring smooth transits and lower costs.
BIOMEDICAL PACKAGING
At Tecnisample we know the value of shipments in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sector. For this reason, we have a wide variety of boxes or packaging valid for the transport of diagnostic samples, infectious substances (category A) and biological substances (category B) in compliance with regulations, as well as standard packaging or custom-made packaging with our own designs, adapting to the specific needs of each client.
The packaging of infectious substances must be designed to minimise the possibility of damage during transport. In addition, it must ensure the integrity of the substances to be transported and consequently appropriate handling of such substances.

Biomedical packaging solutions
Our products comply with current regulations and standards.
The triple packaging system
The triple packaging system for the shipment of Category A or Category B infectious substances consists of 3 levels:

TRIPLE PACKAGING SYSTEM FOR INFECTIOUS SUBSTANCES
1. PRIMARY CONTAINER: this is the container that contains the substance itself and in which the recipient receives it, such as test tubes, Petri dishes, sample bottles, etc. In addition to being physically resistant, the container or primary packaging must ensure the stability and quality of the substance or preparation.
In the case of liquid samples, it must be accompanied by SAFETY CONTAINING MATERIAL which, in the event of breakage, must retain all of the liquid being transported.
2. SECONDARY PACKAGING: May include several primary containers with samples that can withstand an internal pressure of 95 kPa in a temperature range between -40ºC and +55ºC.
3. OUTER PACKAGING or OVERPACKAGING: It includes stability elements to guarantee the correct position of the secondary containers and all the pictograms and labels required for their transport. It must be resistant to water, traction, impact and chemical agents.
Packaging of Category A biological samples
Category A (UN2814/UN2900) infectious materials are substances known or reasonably believed to contain pathogens.
They may only be transported in packagings that meet the specifications for UN Class 6.2 and packing instruction P620, ensuring that they have passed stringent endurance tests (free fall from 9 metres, puncture, resistance to pressure of not less than 95 kPa, stacking, etc.).
Packaging of Category B biological samples
Category B biological substances (UN3373) are samples of human or animal origin, such as blood, urine or tissues that could be infected with a disease or virus. All those that, although they may present a risk to the health of humans or animals, must be analysed before they can be categorised.
They are assigned to the number UN3373, regulation according to ADR packing instruction P650 and IATA/ICAO packing instruction 650.
Reusable isothermal overwrapping for the biomedical sector
As a result of our experience in biomedical packaging for the transport of diagnostic samples for the hospital field, circuits between laboratories, life sciences and veterinary field, etc. Tecnisample – Friobox Group has developed two lines of reusable biomedical packaging with different insulating materials, providing thermal conductivity according to the desired temperature range and traceability needs (transit times) of the client.
Both the Isobiotec line and Friobox ReturnⓇ, marketed through Friobox, are a line of reusable isothermal packaging, made for intensive use, pre-qualified to ensure that the necessary temperature ranges are met, designed to reduce waste, protect the environment and reduce the carbon footprint.

Biological packaging components
Tecnisample components combine to guarantee shipments from origin to destination, with the aim of safeguarding samples, ensuring the safety of those involved in the process and the well-being of the environment.
Biological SubstancesCategory A or Category B

Biomedical kits approved to keep biological substances safe and stable, according to the required temperature range.
Our line of packaging for biological products complies with the following regulations
UN2814 and UN2900 for infectious or potentially infectious samples (packaging guidelines P620) and to UN3373 for diagnostic substances or samples (guidelines P650).
Complements and Accessories Biomedical Packaging

Depending on your specific requirements, separate components can be used which will ensure compliance with the regulations for biological substances, categories A and B.
Our absorbent material, rigid or flexible secondary packaging and overpacks (outer packaging) will help you comply with triple packaging regulations.
Reusable biomedical packaging

Reusable isothermal packaging with different insulating materials, which provides thermal conductivity according to the desired temperature range and traceability needs of the customer.
UN2814 and UN2900 for infectious or potentially infectious samples (packaging guidelines P620) and to UN3373 for diagnostic substances or samples (guidelines P650).
